Please join us for a discussion on the
Federal Budget Proposal and how it affects American taxpayers and values. This will be an evening for learning about how current budget proposals will affect your community and how to fight back! We have invited Congressman Darrell Issa as a guest to listen to the concerns of our community. When he responds, we will update our Facebook event page.
The Trump administration and GOP leaders in Congress will stop at nothing to pass a budget this fall that will protect wealthy taxpayers, while failing the most vulnerable in our society. Trump’s proposed budget would
rapidly increase spending on more immigration detention facilities, increased ICE resources and personnel, a border wall that would begin construction in Southern California and massive tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and big corporations.
And where would all of that money come from? The answer: from cutting vital healthcare and other programs that middle-class Americans depend on such as Medicare and Medicaid, while lining the pockets of wealthy corporations and the 1%.
This budget would pay for the dissolution of immigrant families, while simultaneously destroying health services and other services that all our families need to survive. The national budget reflects our values as a nation - and we cannot allow this harmful proposal to put our lives and our communities at risk.
Please RSVP to get involved and receive updates! This is what democracy looks like!
